This week, Frenship students and staff teamed up with the Rotary Club of Lubbock to fill approximately 500 backpacks with food. The backpacks will go home with Frenship families identified as needing a helping hand this holiday season during the extended winter break.

Students at Ridgewood put their construction skills to the test in the school’s first gingerbread house decorating contest. Architects from Parkhill visited the school and helped judge the different festive houses.

Across the district, hundreds of fine arts students showcased their talents in a variety of holiday performances. From elementary Christmas caroling and middle school band and choir concerts to the high school winter theatre musical, Frenship students dazzled audiences as they wrapped up the fall semester.

Annelise Coker, a fourth-grade student at Oak Ridge Elementary, earned the title of Grand Champion in the drug awareness poster contest hosted by the Lubbock Lions Club. The contest aims to help local schools raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

Last night, over 20 students walked the stage and graduated from Frenship’s Reese Education Center. The Frenship Foundation for Leadership awarded two graduates with Character Scholarships to go towards their future goals. Join us in congratulating these students!

Last weekend, Frenship High School Esports wrapped up their fall competition season at the Hub City Tournament. The Varsity Overwatch and Varsity Rocket League teams secured spots in the state contest, while senior Adrian Grady overthrew the previously undefeated state leader in Super Smash Bros, earning his place at the state competition in May.

The second-grade students at Westwind Elementary recently studied the life of Helen Keller and the challenges she faced. Assistant PE Teacher Jose Marinez, who is legally blind, spoke with the students about different tools he uses to navigate through life.

Today, Frenship’s Quarterback, Holden Phillips signed to continue his football career at Texas Tech University. He is very excited to begin this next chapter at his dream school.

Today, Frenship Alum, Jacob Piel visited his old stomping grounds at Frenship Middle School to speak to the College & Career Readiness class. Piel shared insightful advice on a career in law enforcement.

This week fifth-graders at Bennett Elementary had an exciting day filled with music discovery. The students took a field trip to Frenship Middle School to hear the band and choir. When they returned to campus, the Frenship High School Orchestra visited and performed holiday themed songs.
