Volleyball
The Tiger Volleyball team faced off with two opponents last week, first sweeping the Levelland Lobos 25-23, 25-15, 25-14 in the Tiger Pit on Tuesday, September 9. In that contest, the Tigers were led offensively by Madison Ramsey with 12 kills followed closely by Gracie Harrison with 11 more. Emma Davila and Kendall Mahaney combined for 6 aces with Gracie Harrison and Hanna Page chipping in two more together. On Friday, the Tigers traveled to the Permian Basin to face off with Midland Greenwood, who they defeated 25-15, 25-17, and 25-18. In the Greenwood game, it was a broad team effort that saw a combined 35 kills on the day from eight players. Defensively, Kendall Mahaney notched 20 digs on the day with Gracie Harrison and Hannah Page each chipping in another 15.

This victory improved the Tigers to 23-6 on the season as they prepare to head into District 2-6A play after a matchup with the Hereford Whitefaces tonight in the Tiger Pit at 6:00 pm and then a weekend off. The Tigers have moved steadily up the rankings and are now #19 in the State of Texas according to the TGCA Poll.

Frenship Tiger Cross Country traveled to Amarillo for the Tascosa Rebel Run last Saturday. Lady Tiger runner Emma Lopez notched a second-place individual performance in 21:11.62, while Audrey Allen was 16th (22:41.79) and Melina Bustos placed 22nd (23:01.67). Zachariah Martinez was the highest placer for the Frenship boys in 15th place (18:10.15). Collin Turley ran the 25th-best time in 18:43.25 (Excerpt from www.hubcitypreps.com

The Tigers will head to Plainview this Saturday to compete in the Plainview Invitational.
Girls Golf
The Lady Tigers competed in the Red Raider Invitational last weekend and saw a strong start to the 2019 season with Lainey Cristan finishing in fourth place with a 76-77. The ladies will be back in action October 11th-12th at the Rockwind Roundup in Hobbs, NM.
