Tiger Volleyball Stays Perfect in District Play

Tiger Volleyball completed their third District 2-6A sweep in a row last Tuesday to improve to 28-6 on the season and 5-0 in district play.
 
The Tigers defeated the Odessa High Bronchos 20-25, 25-6, 25-19 behind an 8 kill, 8 dig, 2.5 block performance from Aali Mayfield. Gracie Harrison logged 5 kills, 1 ace, and 24 digs on the day and Kayton Genenbacher once again led the team with 24 assists. Overall, seven Tigers notched a kill and 10 logged a dig. The Tigers combined for seven aces with Emma Davila and Kayton Genenbacher each booking two apiece.

Last week Kayton Genenbacher also became the fourth Tiger in a row to receive Lone Star Varsity Athlete of the Week honors for an impressive performance the week prior. She will join teammate Gracie Harrison, and football teammates Drew Hocutt and Donovan Smith at the Lone Star Varsity Awards near the end of the school year.

The Tigers are sitting in the catbird seat in District 2-6A and after an idle Friday, return to action this week on the road against Midland Lee Tuesday and then host Midland High Friday in the Tiger Pit at 5:00 pm as part of Frenship’s Homecoming festivities.
