The Frenship Varsity and JV Pom Squads brought home 20 awards from the American Dance and Drill Competition held at Lubbock High School this past weekend. Sweeping the competition, the squads brought home titles such as Best in Class JV Division, Best in Class Small Team Varsity Division, and Varsity Best of the Best award – the highest overall score and award for the competition.
“We are so proud of the dedication, work ethic and sportsmanship our teams displayed this weekend,” said Melissa Oakeley, Varsity Pom coach and dance teacher.
After a successful weekend, the squads are already preparing for the next competition in Frisco on February 22nd.

Varsity Pom Awards:
Small Team Solo Awards - All 3 solos took the 3 finalists places:
- 2nd runner up- Yssis Hotchkins
- 1st runner up - Kourtney gore
- Winner- Bella Bennett
- Highest score solo winner in school division – Bella Bennett
Varsity Team Awards:
- Sportsmanship award
- “A wish come true” Outstanding Team Award
Special Judges Awards:
- Wow Factor Judges Awards

Team Awards:
- Sweepstakes and Gussie Neil Davis Award (High point award and Gussie Neil means all 3 dances were scored 93 or higher)
- Awards for dances earning score of 94 or higher by each of the judges - Varsity won awards for each of their dances

Judges award:
- Varsity Platinum- for best: Precision, Choreography, Technique, and Presentation (platinum only awarded to those who won all 4 awards)
