You can read the recap of that from Randy Rosetta with Hub City Preps HERE. The Tigers (30-6, 10-0) had a season absolutely stuffed with statistics denoting the continuation of a program built on strong foundations reaching new heights under Trent Hilliard.
With an 89-56 victory over Odessa Permian on January 28, the Tigers clinched their 17th consecutive playoff berth. By completing the season sweep of the Amarillo Tascosa Rebels 76-55 on February 4, Frenship clinched at least a tie of the District 2-6A championship for the fourth season in a row. Three days later, a 50-44 road win over Odessa High secured the outright district championship. On February 10, a 70-29 stomping of Midland High completed the first undefeated district season in school history.
In the Bi-District round, the Tigers took down El Paso Americas 64-42 for their fifth consecutive Bi-District Title. In the Regional Quarterfinal round the Tigers dropped El Paso Pebble Hills 74-44 and secured their third 30-win season in a row as well. Finally, in making the regional tournament, the 2020 Tiger squad was placed alongside the most storied teams in Frenship history with 1994, 2004, and 2018 who also made that tournament.
Following the Tigers’ exit from the playoffs, the District 2-6A accolades were made public. Frenship ISD saw multiple players acknowledged for their accomplishments.
