FISD Superintendent Dr. Michelle McCord said she was so excited to see students at all 14 campuses and get this school year kicked off!
"It's just great to see teachers and students. Also, something different to see is that I would walk past a couple of classrooms and see the teacher in front of a computer screen," said McCord. "So that was a new normal for this year."
McCord said that during the time schools were closed, FISD did little else but plan for our students, teachers, and staff to return safely.
"We are trying to make the student experience as normal as possible," McCord said. "We all have to understand that in order to keep each other safe, to keep ourselves safe, we've got make these adjustments."
Over the summer, Frenship administrators spent months preparing, collaborating, and building a plan to allow for the safe return of students both face-to-face and virtually.
