The Tigers took down the Lady Raiders 51-31 with Elena Noyola leading the way with 12 points, all scored in the first half. Desiree Jefferson and senior Zaria Fowler each chipped in 8 as well.
On Tuesday, Frenship made a similar trip facing the Canyon Lady Eagles but fell 60-35. Canyon jumped out to a 31-12 lead behind Chloe Callahan who scored 12 of her 20 points in the first half. The Tigers were unable to find an offensive spark and were led by Zaria Fowler and Abbi Holder who each scored 7.
Frenship (1-1) sent 5 players from a very successful 2019-2020 squad to play college basketball and are currently short four players from their roster. Hannah Page and Addison McClure are still playing volleyball, Riley Roberts is nearing the end of an injury rehab, and newcomer Latavia Miller is completing a required waiting period following enrolling at Frenship recently.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday, November 14 in a home/away doubleheader as they’ll host the Lubbock High Lady Westerners in the Tiger Pit at 2:30 pm and then travel across town to take on Coronado at 6:30 pm. On Tuesday, November 17, Frenship will travel to Amarillo to face another regional powerhouse in the Amarillo High Sandies along with Frenship Tiger Boys Basketball in their season opener.
