The Tiger boy's team came out on top with a 79-41 victory over a Regional Finalist from last season. Devin Hartfield and Jalen Braziel led the way with 13 points apiece and Tate Beeles added 11 of his own with a team-leading 8 rebounds. Defensively, the Tigers combined for an incredible 25 steals on the day, with Devin Hartfield leading the way with 9.
The Tigers fell to Palo Duro on the road on Tuesday, December 1 73-83. Hartfield (19), Tajavis Miller (14), and Beeles (10) all finished in double figures. This time it was Tracy Godfrey leading with 8 boards and 2 blocks, and Beeles led the way with 4 steals of his own.
The Tigers will be back in action Friday, December 4 at home hosting the Monterey Plainsmen at 5:00pm in the Tiger Pit.
The girls squad faced the Lubbock-Cooper Lady Pirates and fell short 50-64 on November 23. The Tigers bounced back however with a trip to face the historic Nazareth Swiftettes on their home turf on Tuesday, December 1. Naz has won 24 state titles and are again ranked #1 in 1A by TGCA. The Tigers took down the Swiftettes in a 37-33 slugfest to move to 6-2 on the season. Abbi Holder and Latavia Miller led the way for Frenship with 8 points apiece followed by Abbi Watson and Desiree Jefferson with 6.
That win marks the Tigers’ third over a highly ranked opponent as they took down #4 1A Sands in a quickly scheduled replacement game as well as then #16 3A Jim Ned in OT on the road in an added Saturday contest. Frenship girls will be back in Action on Friday, December 4 as they head to Amarillo to take on the Tascosa Lady Rebels at 6:00pm. They will play in the Tiger Pit on Saturday facing the Lubbock Titans at 4:00pm as well.
