Coach Amanda Kirkpatrick said she is thrilled that so many of her athletes have received this honor.
"We talk a lot about taking care of business in the classroom,” Kirkpatrick said. “There aren't many colleges or universities that are able to give out athletic scholarships for Cross Country, so grades can play a huge part in whether or not a kid is able to compete at the next level and get financial help, too.”
Kirkpatrick said that she believes the athletes are putting themselves in a better position by maintaining higher grades.
“Of course, it also makes them more marketable in all aspects of their life. Our kids have once again proven to be good humans who will be productive citizens in the 'real world' no matter what paths they choose after high school,” Kirkpatrick said.
