Frenship faced off against Odessa Permian on Friday, April 9, claiming the victory 11-3. Sydnee Bowlin had three hits, and Makayla Garcia had three hits and scored two runs. Jill Franco, Maya Mongelli, and Maddie Stewart all had one homerun. AB Prestridge, Makayla Garcia, and Sydnee Bowlin each had one stolen base. Erin Boles secured the win with six strikeouts.
On Saturday, April 10, the Tigers took on the Midland Lee Rebels and brought home their second straight win, 7-1. Jill Franco had two hits, AB Prestridge had two hits, and Erin Boles had three hits. Maya Mongelli had one homerun and three RBIs. Kat Laxon and Abbey Tarr each had big hits and one RBI. Erin Boles had six strikeouts and Kynlee Bowlin came in for pitch relief with four strikeouts and no hits.
Last Tuesday the Tigers were at home against Abilene High. The team sealed the deal in a close matchup, winning 7-6. Makayla Garcia had three hits, Jill Franco had one homerun and 2 RBIs, and Erin Boles had five strikeouts.
Frenship Softball Head Coach Robby Dickenson said that he was thrilled to get this win.
“This was a big win for us,” Dickenson said. “This win kept us in contention for the District Championship.”
