Fresh off of a thrilling buzzer-beating victory over Plainview (the Tigers’ third win of the season over the Lady Bulldogs) the previous Friday, Frenship grinded out a tough-fought 38-35 win over their Concho Valley foes.
Senior Mikah Chapman, whose clutch play down the stretch helped seal the victory over Plainview, came up big once again with a game-high 14 point effort, 8 of which came in the final quarter. After a sluggish start, the Tigers went on a 13-5 run to end the first half and stayed hot from beyond the arc with four Tigers notching made three-pointers in a game where scoring came at a premium.
Frenship will be back in action Friday, December 17 for their first road test of their district season. They’ll face the Odessa Permian Lady Panthers at 6:00 pm in Odessa. Keith Patrick will bring you that game live on Double T 97.3 FM and Frenship.TV.

The Tigers traveled last weekend to the C.W. Jackson Cedar Hill Lions Club Tournament and came home with hardware.
Frenship defeated Red Oak (62-55), El Paso Andress (65-47), Dallas Roosevelt (83-57) and previously undefeated Plano East (68-58) to take the tournament championship. Senior Tracy Godfrey was named the tournament MVP and senior Tajavis Miller was named to the All-Tournament Team.
On Tuesday, December 14, the Tigers headed across town to take on the Estacado Matadors. In 2020, the Tigers took down the Matadors 86-75 in a hard-fought contest in the Tiger Pit and the 2021 edition of the budding rivalry proved no less exciting.
Junior Jalen Braziel paced the tigers with 24 points and the trio of he, Godfrey, and Miller combined for 58 of Frenship’s 78 points. The Tigers held off the Matadors in the final possession to take the 78-76 victory in front of a raucous crowd.
