The Tigers took on Odessa Permian last Friday night at the Tiger Pit for their eighth District 2-6A game of the season.
The Tigers were off to a phenomenal start when Frenship Senior Mikah Chapman and Sophomore Andie Caddel tallied the first 17 Tiger points in the initial 6 minutes of the game, and the defense forced nine Permian turnovers in that same span.
Frenship kept that spark going throughout the game, coming to a dominant close 79-23, marking Frenship's 30th straight District home court win.
"Mikah Chapman had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebound," Frenship Head Girls Basketball Coach Trent Hilliard said.
Andie Caddel and Addison McClure weren't far behind, notching 11 points each, followed by Abbi Holder and Sarah Armstrong with 7.
The Tigers were back on the court Tuesday taking on Midland Legacy High School. The contest started strong with Abby Boyce kicking things off with a two-point jumper, followed quickly by a jump ball in favor of the Tigers and a strong drive from Abbi Holder for two.
Legacy answered the call with a quick three-point bucket and a turnover for Frenship, with two more three-pointers to finish off the first quarter. The Tigers were unable to answer the call and ultimately fell 32-48 to become 8-1 in District 2-6A play.
"We are now tied with Legacy for first place," Hilliard said. "We still control our own destiny as far as winning a share of the District 2-6A championship, but we have to win our last 3 games to do that. It starts with Abilene High on Friday."
Hilliard said he and his team are focusing on their offense before their contest against the Abilene High Eagles this Friday at the Tiger Pit.
"We really need to work on scoring in our half-court offense this Friday," Hilliard said. "Playoffs start in less than three weeks, so we need to make sure we are peaking at the right time. Right now our goal is still to win District. We have won or shared the District championship for five consecutive seasons so we are looking to make it number six this year."
The Tigers (8-1) are taking on Abilene High at 6:00 on Friday, January 28 at the Tiger Pit. You can purchase tickets for that game HERE or at the gate. You can catch the game live with Frenship.TV or via the Frenship Athletics Facebook page.

The Tigers faced Odessa Permian in a home-court showdown last Friday night at the Tiger Pit. The game started off like many others, but came to a climactic point in the third-quarter.
After the half, the Tigers came back to the court down one, 27-28. The Tigers got their fight back scoring an impressive 23 points in the third.
Tracy Godfrey led Frenship with a double-double with 20 points,10 rebounds, and 4 assists. Jalen Braziel added 15 points and Tate Beeles finished with 12. The Tigers sent the Panthers home defeated 62-50.
"It was another great district battle against a very good Odessa Permian team," Frenship Head Boys Basketball Coach Paul Page said. "Both teams played at a very high level and players made some great plays. It was good for us to take care of business at home and move to 6-0 in district play."
On Tuesday, the Tigers (7-0) traveled to Midland to compete against Midland Legacy, where they narrowly kept their winning streak in tact, winning by their closest margin yet, 56-47.
TJ Miller led the Tigers with 14 points, Tracy Godfrey had 12 points and Jalen Braziel finished with 10.
"Abilene High will be a much improved team since we played them last as they had several key players return from injury, so we expect a tough game on Friday," Page said. "We have to continue to be aggressive offensively and defensively and use our depth to try and wear them down. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Pit Friday night."
