Frenship Boys and Girls Soccer Start District 2-6A Play

Boys Soccer

After a grueling pre-season schedule, the Tigers were primed and ready for their match against the Bobcats. The preparation early on helped them seal the deal for their victory 3 nil.

Frenship Head Boys Soccer Coach Scott Smith said he was truly pleased by the momentum and fire his team showed out on the pitch.

"It was an excellent performance with an excellent result," Smith said. "Literally the perfect way to kick off district – longest away trip, brought back the win, the stats, the pride, all of it."

Frenship Seniors Jon Olivarez went for two goals and Edgar Gonzalez scored one. Smith said he was proud to see his team step up to the challenge and excel.

"I thought Ethan Adams and Edgar Gonzalez were phenomenal," Smith said. "They showed desire, showed quality, showed passion, showed leadership. I really admire fine young men who produce on game days and lead by example. I’m really proud of those two, as with the entire roster this season."

The Tigers will be back on their home pitch on Friday, January 28 against Odessa Permian.

"Our focus for Friday is simple - recover those that need it, review some identified game situations from Tuesday night and practice on Thursday, and get after it with the same hunger and desire on Friday."

Tickets for the match against Odessa Permian are available HERE. The boys match will begin at 7:30 p.m.
