Frenship Soccer Rolls on in District Play

The Tigers took on Abilene at the Frenship High School Soccer Pitch on Monday night after their previously scheduled match was postponed due to inclement weather.

After a good effort made by both teams, they ended in a draw, 2-2. Right now the girls stand in 5th place, tied with Midland Legacy, with a record of 1-2-1.

The Tigers will be back out on the pitch tonight, February 11 at 5:30 p.m., as they take on Odessa High on the road.

Boys Soccer

Frenship Boys Soccer took on Abilene High on Monday at the Frenship High School Soccer Pitch.

The boys dominated from midfield, never letting Abilene score, ending the match on top 6 nil.

"It was a solid performance and improvement from the Legacy game, which is what I demanded," Frenship Boys Soccer Head Coach Scott Smith said. "Our midfielders, Luis Montalvo, Edgar Gonzalez, Jeremiah Adams, Ryan Pine, they controlled the game in and out of possession, so I was delighted. They are very influential to our teams style of play."

Smith explained that his team's main goal is to show improvement and learn from mishaps.

"There’s a saying in soccer, 'control midfield and control the game,' and they did that so well," Smith said. "Our record is 10-3-0, and 3-1-0 in district. I’m expecting a really close game against Odessa."

The Tigers will take on Odessa High on the road tonight, February 11 at 7:30 p.m.
