Whitney Ellison – North Ridge Elementary Principal

Whitney Ellison is stepping into the role of North Ridge Elementary Principal beginning in the 2022-2023 school year. Ellison is a 2008 Frenship High School graduate and returned to Frenship as a teacher in 2014. Most recently, she served as the North Ridge Assistant Principal from 2018 to 2022. A longtime Frenship Tiger, Ellison has a deep love for our Frenship families and is heavily involved in district and community organizations. Over the years, she has racked up multiple awards including Region 17 Assistant Principal of the Year nominee, Crestview Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Newton Excellence in Education Award nominee.

Rebecca Whipkey – Fourth Middle School Principal

Rebecca Whipkey, former Frenship Middle School Assistant Principal, has been selected as the new principal for Frenship’s fourth middle school that will open in the 2023-2024 school year. Whipkey began her educational career as a teacher and coach in 2000 and joined the Frenship family in 2003. During her time at Frenship, Whipkey has served as a math teacher, math interventionist, basketball coach, track coach, instructional coach, and most recently Frenship Middle School Assistant Principal. Throughout her career, Whipkey has been awarded the Frenship ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year, two-time recipient of Heritage Middle School Teacher of the Year, Heritage PTA Teacher of the Year, and Newton Excellence in Education Award nominee. Whipkey and her family are dedicated Frenship Tigers, including her husband Roger, a Frenship High School coach and teacher, and two daughters who attend Frenship High School.
