Frenship High School Students Advance to the DECA International Competition

DECA is an international organization focused on preparing high school students for business related careers. The program allows students to compete in events such as role plays concerning real life business situations, research papers, business, marketing, presentations, and finance testing.

Frenship High School had an impressive 50 students advance to the Texas DECA competition, the largest competition in the country with 5,800 students vying for a spot at Internationals.

During the March 9-11 state competition, three Frenship students won first place in their events, earning the title of DECA State Champion for their respective competition. Salma Alhsni in Business Services Marketing Role Play and Taylor Baker and Wilson Cardenas in Marketing Management Role Play will represent Frenship and Texas at the International competition.

Frenship High School’s Charlie Pitner and Jaxon Landusky also earned second place at state in the Community Giving Project and Presentation and will serve as alternates at the ICDC.

“Texas is the largest DECA chapter in the world. Because it is so competitive, advancing to the international competition is an honor itself,” said Rachel Albritton, Frenship DECA Sponsor. “We are so proud of the skill our Frenship students have. They work very hard, practicing and studying.”

Frenship’s three students will compete alongside 14,000 other students at the ICDC in Orlando, Florida on April 22-25.
