Willow Bend Elementary School Announces New Assistant Principal

Hierro has been in education for over 25 years, 20 being at Frenship ISD. Hierro has served in multiple positions including ELR teacher, Math teacher, Science teacher, Intervention teacher, Special Education Resource teacher, and Data Intervention Specialist.

She believes that every position she has held has prepared her to serve as the Willow Bend Assistant Principal.

“Every piece of experience and every relationship I created with so many phenomenal educators and mentors along the way has prepared me for the Assistant Principal position at this amazing campus,” said Hierro.

Hierro’s goal this year is to continue to create an intentional learning environment for students.

“Willow Bend is a campus that embraces culture, understands diversity, and supports inclusiveness. I want to strive to help continue this positive momentum of learning and growing that takes place at this campus,” said Hierro.

Hierro is most looking forward to creating meaningful relationships at Willow Bend this upcoming school year.

“This is going to be a year to remember! I look forward to meeting each student that walks through our doors on the first day of school. It's a great day to be a Tiger and even more amazing to be a Willow Bend Tiger!”

Hierro attended Texas Tech University, later obtaining a master's degree from Lubbock Christian University. She and her husband Mo have three daughters, and two sons-in-laws. Her favorite role is being Mimi to four (and one on the way) grandchildren.
