Frenship’s Head Volleyball Coach, Amy Mangum, believes that it is important to remain positive and motivated even after a close game.

“We continue to improve and bring our game up to speed in every match. I think we started a little slow, so our goal before the next game is to come out with intensity from the beginning of the match,” said Coach Magnum.

The Tigers are also working to be strong on the court while also pouring into each other off the court. Coach Mangum wants to continue building on their team chemistry.

“Our chemistry on the court continues to grow and get better! We call our bench our “Squad” and we work hard to cheer and make sure we are doing our part to support the 6 on the court. They also are great at giving game time input to help players see what is open and help with other things that are going on to help make good game adjustments. I feel like this has been a BIG advantage for this team! On Monday we will announce our first “Squad of the Week” AKA best bench between all 4 of our teams. It makes it fun and helps build the team chemistry,” said Coach Mangum.

Having consistency during practice and on game days is a key that the Tigers are striving for.

“We need to continue to get better every day in practice. Since tournament season is over, we will have many more days in the gym to tweak and build on what we have started with. The key to this is having efficient and intense practices,” said Coach Mangum “We want to be a team that can have the same consistent energy and effort day in and day out! We want to start strong and have confidence in ourselves as a team and as individual players.”

If you haven’t experienced the Tiger Volleyball team in action, now is the time. The Tigers' next game is against Bushland on September 8, at 6:00 p.m. in the Tiger Pit. Purchase your ticket here.

“We have had such great support this season, from parents and the community. If you haven’t caught a game this year, we would encourage you to come out and see these girls in action! They have worked hard and have a ton of talent,” said Coach Mangum
