The energy was high all throughout Homecoming week at Frenship ISD. The energy continued to radiate during the game against Abilene. Head Football Coach Jay Northcutt is more than happy with the Homecoming victory.
“I couldn’t be more proud of how the team played. I’m really proud of our defense. I feel like they bounced back and made big plays. We put a great game plan together against an explosive offense and we came up big,” said Coach Northcutt.
Frenship High School Senior, Caydin Blakely, now holds the second most tackles for loss in school history.
“He really played a great game. I think he’s going to keep getting better every week. I see him making strides every week and he's taken a lot of pride in what he's doing in the defense. I’m really happy with his performance,” said Coach Northcutt.
So far, the Tigers have played four games traveling a total of 9.9 miles. Tonight, the Tigers will get their fair share of time on the road as they face Rio Rancho Cleveland.
“Cleveland is always going to present a challenge because they are expected to win coming off their state championship last year. I think it’s going to be a big challenge this week, but it’s going to be fun,” said Coach Northcutt.
The Tiger’s goal is to play with more consistency across the board.
“I really want us to go out and play a complete game. I really want to have consistency with offense. I want our defense to pick up and build upon their performance from this past week. I think they will play with a lot of confidence. I’m looking forward to a good game,” said Coach Northcutt.
The game tonight starts at 6:00 p.m. (MNT) at Rio Rancho. To stream the game live through Frenship.TV CLICK HERE.
