The Tiger Cross Country team has crossed the finish line for the final time this school year. The team competed at the Regional 1 6-A Meet on Tuesday, October 24, at Mae Simmons where several of the athletes ran their personal fastest time.

“We had 5 Runners get Personal Bests ever, another 4 Runners get Mae Simmons Course Personal Bests, and another runner who ran a best time for the season. We had 10 amazing efforts out of our 14 runners,” said Head Cross Country Coach, Jeff Bigham.

The Boys Varsity team came in 18th place at the meet. Noah Hurst finished in 82nd place out of 179 runners with a new personal best record of 16:58.8. Blake Morrison finished with a time of 17:10. Cade Franklin earned a new personal best record with a time of 17:36. Dalen Gualdoni also earned a personal best record with a time of 17:52.

The Girls Varsity team came in 17th place at the meet. Amaya Mendoza finished in 35th place out of 174 runners with a time of 19:23. Zyla Deshone came in 53rd place with a time of 19:48. Ashley Griffin had a personal best time of 21:17. Isabelle Leonard also earned a personal best record with a time of 21:47.

In a sport that requires a lot of dedication, perseverance, and self-discipline, Coach Bigham feels proud of the progress made by the athletes over the season.

“A great effort to end a season of hard work and progress. I am looking forward to a bit of a break and then beginning training for an awesome track season,” said Coach Bigham.

Congratulations on a season well run, Tigers!
