The scoreboard was on fire at Peoples Bank Stadium last Friday, October 27. The Tigers secured their second District win, putting them in a possible running for the Playoffs.
The Frenship Football team has a record of 7-2, and 2-2 for district play. This puts them in a suspenseful position, as they await the results of future games to determine if they will advance to the postseason playoffs.
The Tigers are currently in the midst of a three-way tie for 3rd place with the Odessa High Bronchos, who have a record of 5-3, and 2-2 district play, and the Odessa Permian Panthers who have a record of 5-4, 2-2 district play. The Tigers beat both teams in district play this season. If the Tigers snag a win against the San Angelo Central Bobcats, or if there is a loss by either the Odessa High Bronchos who play Midland Legacy, or the Odessa Permian Panthers who play Midland High, Frenship will then advance to the playoffs.
Although there are many possible outcomes, the Tigers are staying razor-focused on what they can control.
“We’re going to keep preaching to our guys that they need to go out and do whatever they can to get a win. No matter what else happens anywhere else, we know that gives us the best-case scenario,” said Head Coach Jay Northcutt.
