Frenship Police Department Welcomes New Officers

Last Friday, the Frenship Police Department held a ceremony to swear in the newest police officers to the Frenship Family. Jimmy Godlove will serve as an officer at Oak Ridge Elementary, and Joe Felicia will serve as an officer at North Ridge Elementary.

Officer Godlove is a proud Frenship 1999 Alumni who has previously served in various law enforcement roles. He said he is pleased to return to his roots.

“Jimmy Godlove is truly coming home. He has worked a variety of other law enforcement jobs over the years, and we are very happy to have him on the team,” said Roy Bassett, Frenship Chief of Police.

Officer Godlove has enjoyed spending time at Oak Ridge Elementary and said he will need to invest in more police officer stickers after handing out so many to students.

“When you walk in the doors here, you feel like you’re at home. I’m happy to be back at Frenship,” said Officer Godlove.

A unique element to the swearing-in ceremony was with Officer Felicia being sworn in for the first time as a Texas Peace Officer.

“He spent around 20 years of his time in the Police Force in New Jersey and while he was there, he started the School Resource Officer Program for his district. He came out to West Texas to help run the family business at One Guy from Italy, and wanted to rejoin the force,” said Chief Bassett.

“On behalf of my family, I would like to thank the Frenship community for welcoming me into your family. I look forward to growing as this district grows,” said Officer Felicia.

Welcome to the department, Officer Godlove and Officer Felicia! We are happy to have you!
