Students involved in Frenship FFA can get involved in livestock showing as a part supervised agricultural experience (SAE) projects. Within the livestock showing, students raise various farm animals for competition.
This year, 57 Frenship students participated in the Lubbock County Jr. Livestock Show with over 30 being earned placement ribbons. Furthermore, 12 students placed high enough to qualifyfor the premium sale. Students who qualified for the premium sale receive premium money through the generous support of local businesses and individuals.
In addition to the livestock show, the Lubbock County Jr. Livestock Show offered an opportunity for seniors in the county to apply for scholarships. Over 40 students from Lubbock County submitted applications to be scored by a scholarship selection committee. Frenship FFA members received 3 of the 5 scholarships offered by the county. The recipients can utilize these scholarships towards their college education.
Cayden Hodnett received a $1000 Scholarship sponsored by HEB, Garrison Pieniazek received a $2000 Scholarship Sponsored by Texas Mutual, and Tyler Racca received a $1000 Scholarship sponsored by Texas Mutual.
