The Tigers stepped up to the plate ready to face the Midland High Bulldogs last week, April 4-6. The Tigers had a rocky start to the series but finished hard.
“Our guys did a good job of competing all series long. There were some things that didn’t go our way early on and our guys didn’t let it affect them. They just kept competing and staying in the moment,” said Head Baseball Coach Chad Reynolds.
Midland High Series Results
- Thursday: Midland High defeats Frenship, 4-2
- Friday: Frenship defeats Midland High, 12-3
- Saturday: Frenship defeats Midland High, 7-4
“The goal is to always sweep a series but when you can win 2 out of 3 against a good team like Midland, we’ll take it,” said Coach Reynolds.
A major highlight from the series included several big plays from senior Nano Mendoza. Nano collegiately signed to play baseball at Odessa College in the fall.
“Nano Mendoza continued to hit balls hard all series long. He homered twice, including a game winning 3 run homerun Saturday,” said Coach Reynolds.
