Frenship Announces New Cross Country Coach

The 2024-2025 school year marks Coach Sean Allen’s 12th year at Frenship and 9th year at Frenship High School. Coach Allen’s career first began teaching 6th grade math at Dunbar College Preparatory Academy. In 2012, his time at Frenship started at Heritage Middle School teaching 7th grade history and coaching. He then moved to Frenship High School where he taught social studies and served as an assistant coach for Boys Basketball and Track and Field. He is excited to continue serving athletes as the new Frenship High School Cross Country Coach.

“I am most excited to see the growth of our student athletes and for them to see the fruits of all their hard work,” said Coach Allen. “We’ve been working hard out for eight weeks this summer, and it can be a grind not competing, and I am excited for them to see how their efforts pay off and to establish that culture of embracing difficult things.”

Before Coach Allen joined the education field, he served in the US Army Reserve.

“Education is really a second career for me. I served 22 years in the US Army Reserve with several deployments and mobilizations throughout that time, including serving during the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and serving in Afghanistan in 2010-2011,” said Coach Allen.

Coach Allen has a love for running and is excited to watch the students excel this season.

“My favorite thing about cross country is that if you are consistent in your work ethic and trust the process that we have established, the results will speak for itself,” said Coach Allen. “I expect that our students will excel and compete for a district championship this fall.”

Coach Allen is married to his wife Melanie of 29 years. They have three kids who are all at Frenship High School. His oldest son, Seamus will be a senior, and his twins Ryan and Caitlin will be sophomores. In his free time, he enjoys reading- especially military history, running, and hiking.

Frenship ISD is thrilled to have Coach Sean Allen as the Frenship High School Cross Country Coach.
