Frenship Announces New Boys Soccer Coach

Braxton Thorne is a product of the success of the Frenship Boys Soccer program. Thorne is a proud Frenship Alumni from the class of 2018, who played soccer throughout his high school career. After high school he attended Lubbock Christian University where he continued his soccer journey. He is entering his third year in education teaching and coaching at Frenship High School. He previously served as an assistant coach for Boys Soccer and Cross Country.

Coach Thorne is excited to advance his career as Frenship’s Head Boys Soccer Coach.

“I am most excited to step into my new role as Head Coach and work with the Boys Soccer team,” said Coach Thorne. “They were in great hands before, so I am excited to continue pushing the players to be the best they can be on and off the field.”

Soccer holds a very special place in Coach Thorne’s heart, and he is looking forward to developing this year’s team.

“My favorite thing about soccer is the freedom that is given to players in a game,” said Coach Thorne. “Unlike most sports, there are no time-outs. So, players have the responsibility of making decisions and adjustments as the game flows. It is awesome watching players adapt and learn throughout each game.”

Coach Thorne is married to his high school sweetheart, Kenzie. They have a 7-month-old little girl, Logan, who will be a future Frenship Tiger.

Congratulations, Coach Thorne! Frenship is happy to have you as the Boys Soccer Coach.
