Frenship Orchestra Students Compete in All-Region Auditions

The TMEA Orchestra All-Region Auditions was a significant event for Frenship orchestra students, showcasing their talent and dedication. Open to all area string players from grades 6-12, the auditions welcomed hundreds of participants from area schools, all competing for a place in the All-Region Orchestra.

Frenship had a total of 20 students participating from across all four middle schools, Ninth Grade Center, and Frenship High School.

“This was the first time our middle school orchestra students participated in this contest and the second year our high school orchestra students participated,” said Darcy Radcliffe, Frenship Orchestra Director.

The Orchestra students have been hard at work preparing for their chance to wow the judges.

“Students prepare several required music excerpts and then perform them before a panel of five judges,” said Radcliffe. “The level of difficulty requires many weeks of preparation through private lessons, sectionals, and hours of personal practice time leading up to the audition.”

The dedication of Frenship’s orchestra students paid off, as many of them earned accolades during the auditions. Two of the many notable accomplishments include, Frenship High School senior string bass player, Isaiah Deleon, who ranked 2nd in the region. As well as ninth-grade string bass student, Summer Wright, who ranked 3rd in the region on her respective instruments.

Congratulations to the following students:

Both concerts are free and open to the public.

Radcliffe noted that one of the most enjoyable aspects for the students was the chance to connect and collaborate with fellow orchestra students from the area.

“I think our Frenship orchestra students enjoy the opportunity to play alongside other orchestra students from the area,” said Radcliffe.

Way to go, Frenship Orchestra students!  We will be cheering you on at the All-Region Concert.
