On October 26, middle school choir students from across the area converged at Frenship Middle School for the All-Region Choir Auditions. After months of preparation that started in August, they auditioned for a chance to be part of the prestigious choir.
These students had to learn four pieces, including one acapella and one in a foreign language, and sing excerpts from two of the pieces during their audition. With 317 girls and 173 boys registered to audition, the competition was tough as only 96 girls and 66 boys were accepted into the choir.
The students that made the All-Region Choir will attend the All-Region concert and clinic at Monterey High School on Saturday, November 16. Professional clinicians are brought in from out of town to work with the choir and conduct them at the concert. They will perform all four of the songs they learned for their audition process with all of the members of the All-Region Choir.
“This is a high honor to represent Frenship at the region level,” said Lauren Snow, the Frenship Middle School Choir Director.
