As the Boys Golf Fall Season has come to a close, Frenship High School Head Boys Golf Coach Andrew Correll is proud of the growth and improvement the team has shown throughout the fall season, both on and off the course.
“We definitely played better as the fall went on,” said Coach Correll. “The biggest challenge as a coach is finding the right personnel for our four teams. Several players performed well at the end of the fall season, which should make things very competitive in the spring.”
The team focused on consistent progress this fall, with goals centered on refining course management, improving swings, and preparing mentally for the upcoming district competitions.
“Our goal every fall is to improve with each tournament and get ready for district play in the spring,” said Coach Correll. “By March, we want to be playing our best golf, winning the district title, qualifying for regionals, and giving ourselves a chance to play at state.”
Highlights from the season included the Varsity Blue team competing well in challenging tournaments against state-level teams, while the Varsity Gold team celebrated a tournament win and marked consistent improvement. The junior varsity teams gained valuable experience, building a foundation for future success.
Reflecting on the fall season, Coach Correll expressed pride in his team’s dedication and adaptability. “This year’s team had big shoes to fill with last year’s graduating seniors, and they’ve stepped up admirably. We also have some talented players coming up, which makes the future bright.”
As the team prepares for the spring season, training during the winter break will focus on fine-tuning skills and sharpening strategies. “The fall prepares us for spring, which is our most important time,” said Coach Correll.
Congratulations to the Frenship Boys Golf Team on a successful fall season!
