Frenship ISD Announces Lead Counselor for Frenship Memorial High School

For the last 14 years, Morrison has been serving Frenship families as a counselor and has had the opportunity to guide students through their school years toward graduation and beyond. She joined the Frenship family back in 2010 as the Crestview Elementary counselor. In 2016, she made the jump to Frenship High School, and for the last four years she has served as the FHS lead counselor.

“She is so well known among our Frenship ISD community, and the families absolutely love her. Some of these students have grown up with Nicki as their counselor from elementary to high school,” said Chelsey Campbell, Frenship Memorial High School Principal. “She brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to supporting the well-being and success of our students.”

With four years of experience in the lead counselor role at Frenship High School, Morrison is well equipped to help build the new counseling department as Frenship Memorial High School welcomes its first students this fall. As the lead counselor, she will supervise the counseling team, work closely with staff and parents to address the needs of students, and oversee things such as scheduling, course planning, college and career preparation, and the personal, academic, and social well-being of the students.

“I am looking forward to being a part of the team starting Memorial High School and eager to embrace all the new opportunities it will bring. Working with our students, staff, and parents to create a positive and welcoming culture is something I am really excited about,” said Morrison.

With a background in Psychology and a Master of Education in school counseling, Morrison has shown compassionate guidance and effective support to Frenship students the last 14 years. As part of the Frenship Memorial leadership team, Morrison says one of her goals is to help build the culture of the new school and ensure it continues Frenship’s rich tradition of excellence.

"Creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued is going to be a main focus of mine,” said Morrison. “I am dedicated to helping students overcome both academic and personal challenges, while also celebrating their success.”

Morrison is also a dedicated member of the Frenship Foundation for Leadership, assisting the non-profit with their Character Scholarship program that rewards high school seniors with scholarships based on their character, leadership, and service.

Congratulations, Nicki Morrison, on this new journey at Frenship Memorial High School!
