This past Saturday, January 25, hundreds of students gathered together to compete in the annual Regional Business Professionals of America competition. The event brought together talented young leaders from across the region, eager to showcase their skills and knowledge.
Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a top Career and Technical Student Organization designed for students interested in careers like business management, office administration, information technology, and similar fields.
This marks the second year that Frenship has hosted the BPA Regional Leadership Conference. Leading up to the competition Frenship High School BPA Sponsor, Deanna Luning helps guide the students but shares that most students prepare independently for their competitions, taking the initiative to study and practice.
“We are moral support and reminders of due dates and requirements, so this gives the students a glimpse into what they can expect in the real world,” said Luning.
After the rigorous day of competitions, 21 Frenship students earned top placements, securing their spots to advance to the state competition.

Luning would like to commend the students who have stepped up into BPA leadership roles this year. She is proud of their dedication and growth.
“We have had a remarkable group of students this year and have had several step up to leadership roles. We sent Alexandria Dyer, Danny Nguyen, Jazmin Moran-Trejo, Mikayla Vasquez, Layni Hyde and Ashton Douglas to the 2nd annual Texas Leadership Camp last semester and they came back ready to lead and jump start the Frenship chapter,” said Luning. “I am looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish next year. To say we are proud of them is an understatement.”
This year the BPA State Leadership Conference will be hosted in Dallas, February 27 through March 2.
Great work, Frenship BPA students! Good luck with the State Competition!
