The Frenship High School Pom Squads are leaping to success at the Crowd Pleasers Spirit Competitions. Earlier this month the Tigers dominated the dance floor at Lubbock-Cooper taking home over 20 awards and accolades. Click here to read more about the first Crowd Pleasers Spirit Competition. The teams kept up the rhythm this past weekend in Fort Worth at the second Crowd Pleasers Competition where they continued their winning streak, bringing home even more awards and cementing their place as top contenders in the competition.
JV Pom once again claimed victory in their division, while Varsity Pom dominated the competition in both pom and hip-hop. Varsity first won in their size category, the medium varsity team division, for both routines. They then went on to win the overall genre awards, competing against all varsity teams in the competition. To top it off, they earned the highest overall score of the entire event.
“This is a historical time for Frenship Pom- we have never won overall and swept the whole competition in the Metroplex area and this is also the first time both squads won overall in every way possible at BOTH competitions,” said Head Pom Coach Melissa Oakeley.
The dedication and teamwork shown by both squads have set a new standard of excellence for Frenship Pom.
“We are so beyond proud! We had 3 days to try and elevate these dances, listen to the critiques and review their scores and try to improve what we could before hitting the Metroplex area,” said Coach Oakeley.
