Frenship Memorial High School Names Lead Theatre Teacher

Frenship is excited to announce Lindsey Pierson as Frenship Memorial’s first Lead Theatre Teacher. Pierson has spent 13 years in education, with 12 of those dedicated to teaching theatre. She has a deep passion for theatre and the arts, with experience teaching theatre at Heritage Middle School and Frenship High School.

“Theatre has always been a meaningful part of my life. I was bitten by the theatre bug back in high school, and ever since, it’s been woven into my story,” said Pierson. “It’s the sense of community, collaboration, and the pure magic that happens when people come together to create something meaningful. There’s truly nothing like it.”

Outside of theatre education, Pierson’s background is extensive, with experience working in Deaf education and as a licensed cosmetologist. Pierson earned her bachelors degree from Harding University in Oral Communication. She earned her masters degree from Texas Tech University in Deaf and Hard of Hearing for Special Education.

“What brought me to Frenship was a deep love for theatre and the hope of sharing that joy with students. What I found here was so much more—a vibrant, supportive community where creativity thrives, and the Fine Arts are genuinely celebrated,” said Pierson. “The people I’ve worked alongside and the students I’ve had the joy to teach have left a lasting mark on my life—one that will stay with me long after the final curtain falls.”

Pierson is well-loved by the Frenship community. During the 2021-2022 school year, she was nominated as the Frenship High School Teacher of the Year and later went on to win the District Secondary Teacher of the Year award. This school year, she has been nominated as the Heritage Middle School Teacher of the Year.

“Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working at both Frenship High School and Heritage. These have been some of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my professional life—truly special places that anyone would be lucky to be a part of,” said Pierson.

As she steps into a new role this upcoming school year as the lead theatre teacher for Memorial High School, she is eager to inspire students and cultivate a welcoming and creative environment.

“Joining the Frenship Memorial team is full of hope and excitement. I’m looking forward to helping build a Fine Arts and theatre program where students feel seen, understood, and celebrated. A place where creativity is not only welcomed but encouraged, and where every student, whether a seasoned performer or someone stepping into the world of theatre for the very first time, can find belonging and purpose. I’m incredibly excited to work alongside such a talented team as we create something truly special for our students,” said Pierson.

She is most excited for the opportunity to help build something brand new with the Memorial Fine Arts team.

“There’s something incredibly energizing about starting fresh, laying a foundation where students can grow not only as artists, but as people. I’m especially looking forward to creating a theatre program where all students feel welcome, supported, and inspired—whether they’ve been involved in theatre for years or are stepping into the spotlight (or tech booth!) for the very first time. It’s a chance to dream big, try new things, and create a space where creativity, collaboration, and connection are at the heart of everything we do,” said Pierson.

Pierson says being part of the Frenship community has deeply impacted both her personal and professional journey. She shares that the sense of belonging and support she’s found at Frenship continues to shape the way she approaches education and connection.

“My favorite part of being in the Frenship family is exactly that—the family,” said Pierson. “Since joining Frenship, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some of the most important people in my life—friends, mentors, and colleagues who have truly changed me for the better. From co-workers and administrators to students and fellow teachers, I’ve always felt like I could show up as my full self—and that who I am is enough."

She adds that the culture of encouragement and authenticity is what sets Frenship apart.

“Here, I’ve felt embraced, encouraged, and celebrated. It’s a place where I’ve been able to take risks, grow, and lean into the community during both the joyful moments and the challenging ones. Frenship really is a family, one that inspires me to give my best, serve wholeheartedly, and pour into others. Because when we come together, we don’t just teach content—we create magic,” said Pierson.

Outside the classroom, Pierson is a proud wife and mom. She and her husband, Chris, share a love for life and family, raising two sons, Hays and Drew, who continue to inspire her every day. Her passion for theatre extends beyond teaching, she loves catching live performances, directing, and exploring the power of storytelling. She jokes that coffee is basically her co-director. At the heart of her work is a deep belief in the potential of young people and the stories they have to tell.

“At the end of the day, I teach because I believe in the power of young people and the stories they have to tell. Helping students discover their voice and confidence—onstage or off—is the most rewarding part of what I do,” said Pierson.

Frenship ISD is thrilled to welcome Lindsey Pierson as the lead theatre teacher at Frenship Memorial High School. With her passion for storytelling and dedication to student growth, we know she’ll bring creativity, connection, and heart to the stage. Welcome to Memorial High School, Lindsey Pierson!
