Frenship Memorial High School Names Lead Dance Teacher and Varsity Pom Coach

Frenship Memorial High School proudly welcomes Callie Wilson as the new Head Dance Teacher and Varsity Pom Coach. As a proud Frenship graduate and former Frenship Pom Squad member, Wilson’s return to the district feels like a meaningful full-circle moment.

“Dance has always been a major part of my life; it’s where I found confidence, connection, and a strong sense of purpose,” said Wilson. “There’s something deeply special about returning to the place that raised you. Frenship was my foundation, and I’m beyond grateful to now pour back into the community that gave me the passion for dance education.”

Wilson brings eight years of experience in education, beginning her career as a high school dance director in Amarillo ISD. Her background includes teaching dance, coaching varsity teams, choreographing for major school productions, and leading students both in person and virtually. She has served as a Physical Education and Health teacher, a Special Education inclusion assistant, and a founding assistant coach for the West Texas A&M University Dance Team.

Her leadership journey began even earlier, right here at Frenship. As a student, she was a dedicated member of the Pom Squad before going on to serve as captain of the Baylor University Songleaders dance team.

“These formative experiences laid the foundation for my passion for dance education and student mentorship,” said Wilson. “Memorial brings a unique opportunity to blend tradition with innovation. I’m excited to contribute to a school that embodies Frenship’s commitment to excellence.”

Wilson is most excited for the opportunity to start new traditions and create relationships with the students.

“I’m most excited to build strong relationships with the students and watch them grow not only as performers, but as leaders and teammates,” said Wilson. “There’s something magical about the first time a team finds its rhythm! I can’t wait to witness that moment and help guide them toward success.”

When she’s not in the studio, Wilson enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children. She’s thrilled to be back in Lubbock and part of the Frenship ISD family once again.

Frenship ISD is excited to see Callie Wilson bring her energy, experience, and heart to the Memorial dance program. Welcome back, Coach Wilson!
