The Frenship boys’ basketball team outscored Sherman 37-21 in the second half to overcome a 10-point halftime deficit and win 70-64 to claim third place in the Gene Messer Shootout last weekend at the Tiger Pit.
Cal Dykes scored 24 points and Jack Kirkpatrick, an all-tournament selection, added 21 in the win. The come from behind victory that sealed third place capped off a weekend where FHS won three of four games.
FHS started the tournament Thursday with an opening round 72-62 victory versus El Paso Eastwood and followed it with a 74-50 win over the Lubbock Home School Titans Friday night.
Duncanville won the tournament championship with a 57-46 win versus Rockwall Heath.
The Tigers (5-4) return to action Tuesday at home versus Seminole.
