The tourney title marks the team’s first of the 2018 season.
The Tigers won a back-and-forth battle with Lubbock Coronado in the championship match 20-25, 25-16, 25-23 to claim the title.
FHS started the tournament on Friday with three straight-set victories against Marble Falls, Del Rio and Wink. The perfect run on Friday put the Tigers in Saturday’s gold bracket.
After a 25-16, 25-13 win against Andrews in the quarterfinals, FHS battled to a hard fought 25-23, 25-22 semifinal win against Bushland to move in to the championship match.
Three Frenship players earned all-tournament recognition. Aaliyana Mayfield was named Outstanding Hitter, Hannah Page claimed the Outstanding Defensive Player and Reagan Snuggs was tabbed Outstanding Setter.
FHS’s championship finished off a perfect weekend with six victories in six matches. The Tigers (10-7) are now winners of eight matches in row.
The team returns to the court Tuesday night 21 at Canyon. They host the annual Frenship Tournament this Friday and Saturday at Frenship High School.
