2025-2026 High School Grandfather-Transfer Guidelines

Frenship Memorial High School will open in August of 2025. The High School Student Grandfather-Transfer Information listed below is to provide detailed information and guidelines regarding student transfers and grandfather-transfers for the 2025-2026 school year for Frenship High School and Frenship Memorial High School.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The following transfer/grandfather information is pursuant to Frenship ISD Board Policies FDA and FDB (LEGAL, LOCAL) and corresponding administrative regulations.

GENERAL CLARIFICATIONS

  • Frenship Memorial High School will open in August of 2025 with 9th and 10th grades only. This will allow all 11th and 12th grade students to stay at Frenship High School.
  • All students entering 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend Frenship High School.
  • All grandfather-transfer decisions are final and are not appealable.
  • District transportation will not be provided for any students on an approved transfer, except as required by federal law.
  • Approved transfer requests may be revoked for lack of academic progress, disciplinary infractions, excessive number of tardies, or poor attendance.
  • All high school students shall only participate in University Interscholastic League (UIL) activities, non-UIL extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations on the campus they attend.
  • Participation in UIL activities shall be in accordance with all applicable UIL regulations and applicable District policies FDA and FDB (LEGAL and LOCAL) and the corresponding administrative regulations.
  • Parent(s) or Guardians who feel their student(s) have extenuating circumstances not addressed in this document may call the Frenship ISD Student Services Department with questions.

2025-2026 HIGH SCHOOL GRANDFATHER-TRANSFER GUIDELINES

  • Frenship Memorial High School will open in August of 2025 with 9th and 10th grades only.
  • All students (including Out-Of-District transfers) entering 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend Frenship High School. (See High School Out-Of-District Transfer Guidelines for information on 9th and 10th grade Out-Of-District Transfers).
  • Students entering the 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend the high school they are zoned to attend.
    • 9th and 10th grade students living in the Terra Vista Middle School attendance zone will attend Frenship Memorial High School.
    • 9th and 10th grade students living in the Heritage Middle School attendance zone will attend Frenship Memorial High School.
    • 9th and 10th grade students living in the Frenship Middle School attendance zone will attend Frenship High School.
    • 9th and 10th grade students living in the Alcove Trails Middle School attendance zone will attend Frenship High School.
  • Younger siblings of Frenship High School students entering the 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend the high school they are zoned to attend.
  • All high school students shall only participate in UIL activities, non-UIL extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations on the campus they attend.
  • A student may not transfer to a different school for the primary purpose of participation in extracurricular programs including UIL Academics, UIL Athletics, UIL Music, and UIL Spirit contests. If a student transfers to a campus they are not zoned to attend, their UIL eligibility for academic, athletic, music, and spirit activities and contests may be impacted.
  • Current (2024-2025) 10th and 11th Grade Out-Of-District Transfer Students entering 11th or 12th Grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend Frenship High School.
  • Current (2024-2025) 8th Grade Out-of-District Transfer Students Entering 9th Grade in 2025-2026:
    • Terra Vista Middle School (2024-2025) 8th grade Out-of-District Transfer students will attend Frenship Memorial High School. 
    • Heritage Middle School (2024-2025) 8th grade Out-of-District Transfer students will attend Frenship Memorial High School. 
    • Frenship Middle School (2024-2025) 8th grade Out-of-District Transfer students will attend Frenship High School. 
    • Alcove Trails Middle School (2024-2025) 8th grade Out-of-District Transfer students will attend Frenship High School. 
    • Out-of-District transfers entering the 9th grade for the 2025-2026 school year who DID NOT attend a Frenship ISD middle school will be assigned to a high school campus by the district based on availability.
  • Current (2024-2025) 9th Grade Out-of-District Transfer Students Entering 10th Grade in 2025-2026
    • Current (2024-2025) 9th grade students who completed the 8th grade at the end of the 2023-2024 school year at a Frenship ISD middle school will follow the middle school feeder pattern for high school.
    • If the student attended Terra Vista Middle School in 8th grade, they will attend Frenship Memorial High School.
    • If the student attended Heritage Middle School in 8th grade, they will attend Frenship Memorial High School.
    • If the student attended Frenship Middle School in 8th grade, they will attend Frenship High School.
    • If the student attended Alcove Trails Middle School in 8th grade, they will attend Frenship High School.
    • Current (2024-2025) 9th grade students who are Out-of-District transfers and DID NOT attend and successfully complete the 8th grade (2023-2024) at a Frenship ISD middle school will be assigned to a high school campus by the district based on availability.
 
IMPORTANT:

Due to Frenship’s continued growth trend, Out-Of-District Transfer students entering high school AFTER the 2025-2026 school year will be placed at a high school based on space availability at the high school campus chosen by the district.  Frenship will make reasonable efforts to place Out-Of-District Transfer students, who attend a Frenship ISD middle school, at the high school that aligns to the middle school feeder pattern.  However, priority will be given to students who reside in the attendance boundary.

EMPLOYEES AND THEIR CHILDREN WHO RESIDE IN THE DISTRICT:

  • Frenship High School employees with students entering 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year may transfer their student from Frenship Memorial High School to Frenship High School.
  • Frenship Memorial High School employees with students entering 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year may transfer their student from Frenship High School to Frenship Memorial High School.
  • If a student transfers out of their attendance zone to attend another high school in the Frenship district, the student must remain at that high school through graduation even if the parent/guardian no longer works at that high school.
  • If a student transfers to a campus that they are not zoned to, UIL eligibility for Academics, Athletics, Music, and Spirit activities and contests may be impacted.
 

EMPLOYEES AND THEIR CHILDREN WHO DO NOT RESIDE IN THE DISTRICT:

  • Frenship High School employees with students entering 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year may transfer their student to Frenship High School.
  • Frenship Memorial High School employees with students entering 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year may transfer their student to Frenship Memorial High School.
  • All other Frenship employees with students entering 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year may transfer their student to a high school in Frenship ISD. Placement will be based on availability as determined by the District. If a Frenship employee’s student attends a Frenship ISD middle school, the District will make reasonable efforts to place them at the high school that aligns to the middle school feeder pattern.
  • If a student transfers to a campus that they are not zoned to, UIL eligibility for Academics, Athletics, Music, and Spirit activities and contests may be impacted.

IMPORTANT: If a student transfers to a campus where they are not zoned, their UIL eligibility for UIL Academic, UIL Athletic, and UIL Music, and UIL Spirit activities and contests may be impacted.

  • Participation in University Interscholastic League (UIL) activities shall be in accordance with all applicable UIL regulations and applicable District policies FDA and FDB (LEGAL and LOCAL) and the corresponding administrative regulations.
  • The District has the authority and reserves the right to enact stricter rules and requirements than that of the UIL.
  • A student may not transfer to a different school for the primary purpose of participation in extracurricular programs including UIL Academics, UIL Athletics, UIL Music, and UIL Spirit activities and contests.
  • All high school students shall only participate in high school athletic programs on their zoned campus, except as outlined in Federal Law, State Law, a Court Order, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and other applicable District policies and any corresponding administrative regulations.
  • Detailed information on the UIL Eligibility is available on the UIL Website: University Interscholastic League (UIL) and should be investigated fully by the parent/guardian.

All high school students shall only participate in UIL, non-UIL extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations on the campus they attend.

  • Frenship High School students shall only participate in non-UIL extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations at Frenship High School.
  • Frenship Memorial High School students shall only participate in non-UIL extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations at Frenship Memorial High School.

Frenship High School and Frenship Memorial High School will offer the same Special Education services.

  •  Frenship Memorial High School will open in August of 2025 with 9th and 10th grades only.
  • All students entering the 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend Frenship High School.
  • Students with a disability who receive special education services should contact the Frenship ISD Student Services Department for more information about transfer/grandfather criteria.
  • The transfer of a student with a disability who receives special education services may have access to transportation only by a duly constituted ARD committee under Education Code 37.004.
  • Frenship Memorial High School will open in August of 2025 with 9th and 10th grades only.
  • All students entering the 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend Frenship High School.
  • All Dual Language students entering the 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year will attend the Frenship Memorial High School Dual Language Program.
