The first-year Tiger wrestling team is set to host their first meet in school history Tuesday when FHS battles tradition-rich Amarillo Palo Duro.

The Frenship basketball programs will be part of Lubbock history this weekend as both teams will play in the final high school basketball games ever played at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.

FHS won three of four games to qualify for the championship game and move their overall record to 7-2 on the season.

For the third consecutive season, FHS traveled home with the Burleson Lady Elk Invitational championship trophy after winning five games to win the 10-team tournament.

FHS had the highly-favored Permian Panthers on their heels for much of the first half Friday night at Ratliff Stadium. In the end, the Panthers proved too much and came out with a 38-10 victory to stay unbeaten in District 2-6A.

The Bronchos returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to take an early lead and never look back in a 56-10 win over the Tigers.
