Uploaded Sep 25, 2018In 2018 Frenship piloted a Texas Externship Program with BGR Architects and the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA) as partners. Fifty-seven Frenship teachers spent three days over the summer embedded with an employer of interest to them. They brought real-world experiences, application of job-ready skills, and new perspectives about the workplace back to their classrooms and their students.
Following Frenship's pilot program, Workforce Solutions South Plains and LEDA secured significant grant funding to send over 150 teachers from across the Lubbock area to externships in the summer of 2019. Frenship is proud to be on the leading edge of professional development on the South Plains and will continue to commit to providing its teachers with the most dynamic and innovative opportunities for their professional growth.
